It makes sense that UK residence will shift their focus from outdoor or garden furniture more to indoor furniture during the cold and gloomy UK winter. Surprising though it may seem in other parts of the world garden furniture sales pick up due to the cooling temperatures which enable people to stay out more. Garden furniture has seen a giant leap forward, design wise, thanks to the many Asian designers who have worked in particular with rattan furniture.

One example of the novel new garden furniture is that of the daybed created in part from the old French chaise lounge one assumes as this served as both a sofa and a bed during the day. Rattan garden furniture has been a real hit with the British public and it’s no wonder given its unique practical quality. Though one must remember it is the synthetic rattan I talk of not the genuine rattan which of course would barely last the first summer downpour. The UK has seen many shifts of fashion in furniture styles and designs but to my mind nothing quite beats the minimalist style of rattan even in the synthetic sense. It’s hard to find a material that’s quite so practical in the garden as well as the conservatory.

Add some scatter cushions for colour and rattan furniture can look great in even the swankiest of hotels or bars. It is widely known that one of the reasons rattan garden furniture has become so popular in the UK is thanks in no small part to the cost thus offering not only style and comfort but affordability too.
